Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Amr Abdelgawad, MD, MBA is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and the chairman of the Orthopedic Department at Paul L Foster School of Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Science Center-El Paso. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons (ABOS). He gained the SICOT Diploma certificate in 2003 (the first exam done). He also has a master degree and a PhD degree of orthopedic surgery from Ain Shams University in Cairo (2002 and 2008 respectively). He had earned MBA (with concentration in healthcare management) degree from Walden University (in October 2017). Dr Abdelgawad is a fellowship trained in pediatric orthopedic, orthopedic trauma and limb lengthening and reconstruction. Dr Amr Abdelgawad is the main editor of the book "Pediatric Orthopedic, handbook for primary care physicians”, a very successful handbook used by primary care physicians, nurses, therapist and medical students. He had published more than 90 peer reviewed publications, invited publications and book chapters. His work is cited more than 600 times. Dr Abdelgawad described new technique for treatment of Blount’s disease, a new method for nail extraction, a new technique for obtaining bone graft, a new technique for fixation of calcaneal tuberosity fracture and a new method of fixation for pediatric distal femur fractures. Dr Abdelgawad had also filed two patents for orthopedic devices.
