Inhaltsangabe

Wei Jingsheng's message has continued to inspire generations of Chinese democracy activists from the students in Tiananmen Square to the wary citizens of Hong Kong. From his solitary confinement cell he has written defiant lettes to Deng Xiaoping and other communist leaders, expressing his views on economic reform, foreign investment, Tibet and other urgent social and political concerns. This book also includes touching letters to family and friends, a small selection of political essays and his moving defense statement from his first trial.
