Mr. John Burnham, of Connecticut, is said to be the inventor of the American windmill. Mr. L. H. Wheeler, an Indian missionary, patented the Eclipse mill in 1867. The first steel mill was the Aer motor, invented by Mr. T. O. Perry in 1883.
