Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

The desire to discover her heritage led Ingrid Ramsdale to write her debut novel, Emilie. As a first generation Australian with Dutch parents, Ingrid grew up curious about her French connection. As a young girl, she believed she had French royal blood coursing through her veins, and as an adult she learned her forebears had fled France to escape religious persecution. Emilie became her connection to the past, and a conduit to understanding how history can shape our understanding of ourselves. The issues of gender inequality and religious intolerance that she explores are as relevant today as they were in the 16th century. Ingrid lives in a small rural town in Tasmania. She wrote Emilie in an old 1880's hotel that she and her husband, Michael, lovingly restored into a beautiful home for themselves. She uses her skills as a retired English teacher and clinical nutritionist to weave an enthralling and inspirational historic tale.
