This is the first book to cover in a single volume all aspects of monitoring the functions of the central nervous system during neurosurgery and in the intensive care unit. Since anaesthetics exert their principle effects on the central nervous system, it is of paramount importance that the functions of this system are adequately monitored. There are many books devoted to monioring in anaesthesia in general but they concentrate on the autonomic functions such as heart rate, blood pressure, respiration etc. and often give very little information on central nervous system monitoring or the specialised needs of the neuroanaesthetist.
