Venture deep into the rich loam of this diligent collection of heart offerings. K.R. Morrison has woven a tight nest of verse with plenty of room to sift, wander, and contemplate. Bring a candle with you... and your sharpest blade. Cauldrons is among the finest in new incantation poetry.
Foreword by Kim Shuck, Poet Laureate of San Francisco, Emeritus.
KR’s cauldron of sensual mothering understands the necessity of bone that allows the goddess to bloom. “Give all that death to me” she says, an image that viscerally repeats daily; in the come around. This tome is for the self-reflective breaking dictums of becoming a victim, unearths buried silence. A harbor reveals a graveyard for justice. Some will hold their breath. KR’s imagery is of a mystic enveloping a cauldron whose image is that of a hand we wish to see, stirring behind our backs. You will face it! This word work is for those confronting countless evictions from the magic of self-worth, a systemic predilection the moon itself can’t resist.

Synchronicity, The Oracle of Sun Medicine
This striking collection is fueled by a distinct and feminine voice and is alive with lush and shimmering imagery, full of magic, blood, and grace. The poems have a mythical quality as they speak of the bonds of family and history and stare down the sometimes violent reality of a woman's experience in this life with a justified anger, coupled with a strength that brings transcendence. Every piece hits hard and true.
—William Taylor, Jr.
Pretty Things To Say
Cauldrons is a witch dream, sacraments of red juju, poems that permeate the marrow of bone and moonskin. K.R. Morrison is a gifted witch poet who weaves tales of reclamation. Her poems make me dizzy with literary pleasure.

K.R. Morrison is a poet and drummer who teaches English Literature and Creative Writing to inner city youth in San Francisco, Ca. In 1997, she fell in love with San Francisco, where she earned a B.A. in philosophy from USF(2001), a portion of which she earned at Oxford University, her emphasis on Medieval Philosophy and Gothic Art and Architecture. Morrison earned a teaching credential, another B.A. in English Literature, and minored in Creative Writing from California State University, Long Beach (2004). Longing to return to the only place that ever felt like home, she went back to San Francisco, where she's been teaching at Galileo High School for 17 years. Morrison was a guest on two popular Bay Area's podcasts, Bitchtalk and Storied: San Francisco about being an educator, musician, and writer in a city that's rapidly changing. She has featured for many curations throughout the Bay Area, apart from reading at curations in New Orleans, Los Angeles, and New York. Published by Switchback, Quiet Lightning, and Haight Ashbury Literary Journal, Gasconade Review recently published three of her poems in an anthology entitled, Ladies Night, while Great Weather for Media included her "Memoir of a Pirate Girl Who Could and Did" in their most anthology, Escape Wheel. These days, Morrison writes and teaches online by the sea, a place she calls Mermaid Town. These days, her "home" is where the sea is, in the transition.
