Just As I Am By Annette "Nena" Rosa Balestier is filled with jaw-dropping, mind-blowing artwork, poetry and prose. "The history of this book took place many years ago back in Brooklyn. I was a kid in Brooklyn who spray painted on the side of trains. I have been creating art since I was eleven years old. Even today, my artwork and murals can be seen somewhere in Brooklyn or on an old train! "My absolute favorite art medium is to use is black shoe polish! Most of the works in the book were created with black show polish! One of my challenges with my artwork is self-portraits". Back in the 1980’s, Nena was an artist for Low Rider Magazine. Her artwork pseudonym/name was Teen Angel. She drew cars, people, scenery and many low riders! This rare coffee table art book would a make a great addition to any personal library because poetry and prose encourage all to focus on positive thinking and live on through their struggles. Nena came up with the premise for this book based on her life’s journey. Recently, one Sunday Nena was feeding the homeless...she began drawing a picture and I said I have to let this be known! "My book is quite different from other books currently available. Simply put, I’m the little girl who made it here with a shoe shine box from Brooklyn, New York through trials and tribulations and I’m still standing to tell my stories and each one will touch your heart." “Vision without action is merely a dream; Vision with action can change the world”
