Yovel Badash earned his B.Sc. from the Open University in Tel Aviv. “The way it works is simple – there are no acceptance criteria –anyone can learn anything they want,” says Yovel. “When you register for a course, the university sends you a large box of course materials every semester. You have a meeting with a guide once every few weeks and you literally learn alone at home. It’s a very different way of learning and seeing how most of my friends learned in ‘traditional’ universities, I couldn’t help but think –why  isn’t there more of this?” Yovel completed his degree while holding down a demanding, full-time sales and marketing position. “My degree in Computer Science and Management is a great example of how you can literally learn anything if you have great materials, some good guidance and a lot of willpower.” He went on to found NaMaYa, Inc., a next-generation education platform as a service (PaaS) provider for the education sector. Yovel consults companies and organizations in the business and education sectors in his role as co-founder and president of Strategic Biz Dev, a full-service business development firm, and he is the founder of NoChildHeldBack.com, a consortium of schools, parents, teachers, technology and content providers committed to education excellence.
