Dr. Alan Muskett is a native of Missoula, Montana, graduating from Sentinel High School in 1975, which really wasn’t all that long ago. He received a degree in English Literature from Montana State University, then an MD from the University of Washington. He did a general surgery residency at the University of Utah, followed by a residency in cardiovascular surgery at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. In 1991, he began private practice in Billings, Mt. and over the next twelve years did cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery. In 2003, he began a residency in plastic surgery at the University of Mississippi, and returned to Billings in 2005, joining Dr. Steve Grosso at Billings Plastic Surgery. He wife Pam, daughters Sally and Cathy, and son Luke are frequent fodder for Alan’s columns. Over his careers in Billings, he has written features for the Health Section of the Billings Gazette. Selections of those columns, as well as some other pieces, comprise this collection.
