He wonders about the mysterious meteor storms that have been pummeling cities for nearly half a century and are getting worse. Daniel's suspicions materialize into an ominous reality after the United States government pulls him and his coworkers from the mission to California to assist in what is thought to be an eco-terror attack. The scientists' work reveals not only the cause of the destruction but the origin of the meteor storms. Daniel and the mission are then plunged into supernatural realms triggered by humanity's failure to manage the world and itself, the prospects for horrifying than anything conventional science had envisioned or can resolve.
