Photos and poetry by Coy G. Koehler. (Preview the book above. The photos are in low resolution) Coy’s book is a portrait of our everyday life that goes unnoticed, yet it is right in front of us, at a bus stop, in a car, airport, coffee shop, or just walking down the street. His photography allows us to daydream and reflect as though we were sitting on a park bench and casually watching people, who walk on by. We become enthralled by our own observations, curiosity, and understanding of an everyday moment, that he has captured, to see ourselves within a framed reality of today’s world. His poems tell stories. Coy’s poetry opens your imagination to possibilities with an honest sincerity and humors the everyday struggles that we, as well as the lonely person mumbling to his self over a cup of coffee at an empty dinner, deal with. He reaches inside, deep, to have us see a different world, yet still knowing that it's just all the same and that people are just people. Coy G. Koehler has painted his portrait of an American gothic.
