Phillip E. CarpenterBorn on a large Wyoming ranch, later moving to Idaho, Carpenter learned to hunt and fish at an early age. He later spent some time studying martial arts and combat shooting which led to law enforcement, then a career in radio and TV as a news journalist. He was awarded several honors over the years including Newsman of the Year in his state, plus the American Trial Lawyers Association Award for anti-crime efforts and was published in Reader?s Digest. Later, he became a national magazine editor and wrote hundreds of articles and books for several well-known publications including Argus Publisher?s Corporation, Consumer Guide Publications and others. He also wrote a novel that eventually became the screenplay for a motion picture starring William DeVane and Tommy Lee Jones. His other most recent top-rated novels of note include Elephant Gun and Arabian Assignment: Slavery and Terrorism in North Africa. He currently lives with his wife in a beach town in Southern California where he enjoys restoring classic cars and playing guitar.
