Stephens graduated with a degree in human resources management from Florida State University and a master?s of arts degree in instructional systems development from the University of Maryland at Baltimore County. He is an ordained deacon of Rising Sun First Baptist Church. He currently teaches for the Baltimore City Public School System and is enrolled in St. Mary?s Ecumenical Institute and Seminary.
