The poems originate from random thoughts the poet has on a daily basis, his outlook on life and his interpretation of what lies beyond the obvious.These thoughts vary in subject and depth, touching upon existentialism, social controversies such as oppression and conformity to unrequited love and onwards to the confusion we face each morning at the sounding of our alarms. Yet throughout the poems remain readable in their depth; we all can relate.

New York City-based international music journalist and DJ Derek Beres has written for dozens of national magazines, serving as Managing Editor for Global Rhythm magazine for 2 1/2 years. He tours internationally with DJ collective GlobeSonic. He also makes his way as a Vinyasa yoga instructor.
