Come Next Spring draws on memories from my childhood in a small town in Kentucky?fried chicken, corn bread, family gossip on the front porch, and the bookmobile. While I have never lived in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, I visit there often, and the quiet majesty has a special hold on my heart.
