Since the publication of the first edition in 1975, this approach has become widely adopted as an effective and popular method of learning foreign languages. During this time, A Communicative Grammar of English has established itself as a grammar innovative in approach, reliable in coverage, and clear in its explanations. It is now available in this fully revised and redesigned second edition to provide up-to-date and accessible help to teachers, advanced learners and undergraduate students of English.
This new edition has been updated to include more examples, mostly taken from authentic language sources, both written and spoken. Increased emphasis is given to grammar in spoken language, providing a better balance between written and spoken English. Explanations are simple and easy to understand and clear distinctions are made between major and minor points.
