Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Niara Perry (she/they) is a Black, queer, Philadelphia-native with a deep passion for human connection. Since childhood, this passion has served as her North star through the twisting journey to adulthood. It has led her to earn a B.S. in Media Culture and Communication from New York University, to pursue a career in Diversity Equity and Inclusion, and to create the podcast Persisting in Color. In the wake of George Floyd's death, her poem "Dear Little Black Baby" was used in a fundraising campaign. The responses to the poem were moving and, in following her trusted guiding star, Niara found herself typing into the search bar "how to self-publish." After a lifetime of writing, she realized the connections that could form from sharing her inner therapy. A year later, she published her first collection of poetry, Mourning a Stranger.
