Inhaltsangabe

Read All About It! The Life, Times & Travels of George B. Delaplaine Jr. takes readers on a warm, nostalgic trip through 140 years of Maryland and Delaplaine family history, beginning with the inspiring life and heroic death of George's grandfather, a leading businessman in Frederick in the 1880s, who gained prominence as a newspaper publisher, commercial printer and savvy entrepreneur. As the pages turn, George shares memories of this "Greatest Generation" upbringing during the Great Depression; his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II; his rise from "printer's devil" apprentice to president and publisher at The Frederick News-Post; and his success in growing a cable TV startup into a regional powerhouse. Read All About It! then continues with George B. Delaplaine Jr. the philanthropist, whose Delaplaine Foundation, Inc. continues to make a profound impact in Maryland communities and beyond through transformational grant awards.
