This book is primarily about decision-making. Superior decision-making is often made easier by applying a decision framework, and many complex issues needing a well-considered decision framework can be displayed in a 2 x 2 Matrix (also sometimes referred to as a 4-Box Model). This is a very simple, but often elegant way to frame the uncertainties underlying a decision. As a decision-making tool, these 2 x 2 matrices have been used extensively and successfully in the business world for years.
