Start Your Own Religion - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

In this book and the 10-part television series which accompanies it, Colin Morris imagines putting together from scratch a religion which would meet our deepest needs. What would its raw material be, which experts could we turn to for help, and how do we decide whether a religion works or not? Morris uses the device of DIY as a way of getting beneath individual religions to see if there is an essential core of religion pure and simple, shared by all humans - those who seek God in church, temple and mosque, and those who have, as he puts it, concluded a pact of mutual non-agression with God. Among the conclusions he comes to are that people create their own faith according to their individual needs, and that the doctrines of professionals are not nearly as important as the way we lead our lives - for this is how faith becomes a reality.
