The book describes and analyzes the geographical features of the landscape surrounding the Channel shores, and explores the dramatic, delicate, bizarre and beautiful wildlife which inhabit this fascinating and varied waterway. The author has produced 28 natural history films for BBC Television, and won first prize at the 1986 International Festival for Nature Film Makers, for the "Secret Nature of Britain" series. His other books include "Watching Wildlife" and "Secret Nature of the Countryside".
