Through selected unabridged articles by nationally known writers (such as Dave Barry and Lisa Grunwald) as well as local journalists, this book investigates the question of how writers take risks--physical, psychological, stylistic, etc.--in the course of investigating and writing a story. The book deals with many of the standard issues of traditional journalism, such as objectivity, first-person vs. third-person accounts, reliability of sources, and the decision-making process of the writer, but with regard to the new challenges writers face in the nineties.
