Garrison's clear and current ESSENTIALS OF OCEANOGRAPHY is based on his bigger Oceanography text. However, unlike competing books, which are simply abbreviated versions of a larger text, ESSENTIALS is crafted specifically to meet the needs of the shorter course, with less biology and a total of 15 chapters. This revision presents the most current information throughout, including up-to-date information on global warming, as well as an improved and expanded illustration program. In addition, there is increased emphasis on the interdisciplinary nature of marine science.
