This revised text aims to help students develop a personalized style of counselling. ten contemporary theories are presented and these are psychoanalytic, Adlerian, existential, person-centred, Gestalt, reality, behaviour, cognitive-behaviour, family systems, and feminist. The book demonstrates how each theory can be applied to a single hypothetical case (Stan), covers the major concepts of counselling theories, shows students how to apply those theories in practice, and helps them learn to integrate the theories into an individualized counselling style.
