Buchbeschreibung Cloth with dustjacket. Zustand: Good copy. 1st edition. Jacket design by John E. Johnson. The book is based largely on Hart Crane's letters to Yvor Winters. For years it has been assumed that these letters had been burned by Winters, as he burned practically all letters to him, exept the 45 letters fron Crane. Contents: 1). A meeting of minds. 2). 'White buildings'. 3). Emerging differences. 4). Progress on 'The Bridge'. 5). A threatening letter. 6). Their only meeting. 7). The last phase. 8). Epilogue. With appendix (about William Dinsmore Briggs), notes, bibliography and index. Facsimile-page of Hart Crane' typescript. Harold Hart Crane (1899 - 1932) was an American poet. Finding both inspiration and provocation in the poetry of T. S. Eliot, Crane wrote modernist poetry that was difficult, highly stylized, and ambitious in its scope. In his most ambitious work, 'The Bridge', Crane sought to write an epic poem, in the vein of 'The Waste Land'. Arthur Yvor Winters (1900 - 1968) was an American poet and literary critic. XXIII + 174 pag. Size: 23,5cmx15,5cm. Artikel-Nr. 028885
