Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
A pioneer of the sea story, Captain Frederick Marryat (1792–1848) based many of his novels on his own exploits. Marryat entered the Royal Navy at the age of 14 and survived 50 battles, retiring after 25 years of service to focus on writing.
