Sistine Chapel (Dover Pictorial Archives) - Softcover

Alive with color and emotions, the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City is more than a jewel box for lovers of fine art. It is also the pope's private chapel and the room where cardinals from around the world meet to elect new popes.
Among the celebrated treasures painted high on its vaulted ceilings are two of the world's most famous frescoes — Genesis and The Last Judgement. These magnificent works of art, along with other masterpieces by Michelangelo, are featured in this beautiful coloring book. Adapted by Eric Gottesman, 30 ready-to-color illustrations show details from such works as The Flood, Adam and Eve in Paradise, Noah's Sacrifice, The Prophet Jonah, and David and Goliath. Identifying captions accompany each illustration.
