For t c more perfect understanding of Scottish works, it has not been deemed superfluous, not only to add to the list of the words such proper names as ma occasionally occur in them and be of interest, but a so an appendix with notes, explicative of many things referring to customs, manners, traditions, super stitious beliefs, games etc. Which would have taken 11 too much room in the dictionary itself, but to whic a reference is found under the respective words, in their alphabetical order.
