There he studied Theology with the Rev. Dr. Joel Benedict, pastor of the Congregational church in that place. He was licensed to preach Septem ber 24, 1811. He supplied several congregations in Vermont and elsewhere, for longer or shorter periods, and made a powerful impression by his preaching.
