Computational Methods for Inviscid and Viscous Flows (v. 2) (Wiley Series in Numerical Methods in Engineering)

9780471923510: Computational Methods for Inviscid and Viscous Flows (v. 2) (Wiley Series in Numerical Methods in Engineering)

Inhaltsangabe

This is the second of two volumes which together provide a comprehensive account of the numerical computation of internal and external flows. Volume 1 is concerned with descriptions of the methods involved. This second volume complements it by dealing with the application of computational methods to the problems of fluid dynamics. The coverage is comprehensive, including discussion of the equations used and the circumstances for which they are suitable, the numerical techniques used and their solution, and methods for producing computer programs. Volume 1 "Fundamentals of Numerical Discretization" was published in July 1988 and a student edition will be available in July 1989. The text will benefit graduate students and practising engineerings in the field of computational fluid dynamics. Considerable progress has been achieved in the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and it is reaching a stage where the basic methodology is becoming well established. The tremendous development of computer performance has resulted in the present capacity for solving two-dimensional Euler equations in seconds of computer time. Hence more attention can be given to the validation, accuracy and reliability of numerical flow simulations and to their extensions to complex industrial design and analysis applications. This text is directed at students at the graduate level as well as at scientists and engineers already engaged, or starting to be engaged, in Computational Fluid Dynamics.
