The multiple choice question in its variety of formats has become increasingly popular with examiners in medicine and science. This, however, is not simply another MCQ book. The authors, each with nearly two decades of experience in teaching pharmacology to medical and science students, have adapted and developed the MCQ concept to combine the functions of both examining and teaching. Their MCQ can be used in the traditional way for self-assessment and revision, but perhaps the chief value of the book lies in the detailed explanatory text which accompanies each MCQ.
