The encyclopedia, on statistical methodolgy and applications, covers research theory and practical applications in virtually every field. It is designed to help specialists avoid duplication of research and to help statistics users in every field understand the advantages, caveats, and techniques of numerous statistical methods. There have been many new advances and developments in statistics since the publication of Volume 1 in 1982. The purpose of thsi Supplement is to report on these events with full, detailed entries.
