KAI CHANG is a professor in the Electrical Engineering Department of Texas A&M University where he teaches and performs research in microwave devices and circuits. Previously he was a section head at TRW, Inc. where he was responsible for millimeter-wave integrated circuit component and subsystem development. Prior to this, Dr. Chang was a supervisor at Hughes Aircraft Company, where he was involved in the development of microwave circuits, millimeter-wave oscillators, and power combiners. Dr. Chang is the author of a number of book chapters and has published over 90 technical papers on microwave circuits, components, and subsystems. He earned his PhD in electrical engineering at the University of Michigan.

Tsui Reflecting important recent advances made in device and logic circuit design, this guide presents the latest breakthroughs in microwave receiver development—including the pioneering research on radio frequency (RF) delay lines that has made some special types of receivers possible. Examines the properties and structures of all types of electronic warfare receivers, including superheterodyne and homodyne receivers, instantaneous frequency measurement (IFM) receivers, and more. 1986 (0 471-83652-4) 460 pp. Microwave Imaging Techniques Bernard D. Steinberg and Harish M. Subbaram This premier handbook is a comprehensive guide to the latest thinking and most advanced practical applications in terrestrial microwave imaging enhancement. The first four chapters are devoted to an understanding of how microwave imagery is obtained and the various problems inherent in producing high-resolution microwave images. The remaining eight chapters cover assorted techniques for: achieving diversity-combining images, eliminating image artifacts and general image improvement, reducing data-handling requirements, superresolution processing of spatial data, and more. Containing nearly 170 illustrations and mathematical equations, this is a clear guide to the field’s practical essentials. 1991 (0 471-50078-X) 361 pp.
The Handbook of Microwave and Optical Components is the most complete treatment available of both microwave and optical engineering principles, and is an excellent compendium for engineers who work in microwave and optical design, as well as engineers in other disciplines who need to understand the capabilities and limitations of microwave and optical systems. The Handbook covers all of the important components in microwave, millimeter wave, submillimeter wave, infrared, and optical frequency spectra. The information given is almost entirely practical in nature, with theoretical discussions and mathematical formulations given only where essential. The Handbook of Microwave and Optical Components, Volume I provides a wealth of essential principles, design information, and references to help solve problems in high-frequency spectra. Whenever possible, design results are presented in graphic and tabular form. References are given for further study. The information is organized into two major parts in four volumes. Part I, titled "Microwave Components," includes Volumes I and II, respectively, Microwave Passive and Antenna Components and Microwave Solid-State Components. Part II, "Optical Components," is comprised of the third and fourth volumes, Optical Components and Fiber Optical Components. Each chapter was written as a self-contained unit, although there is occasionally some overlap of information. With its unparalleled scope of coverage and its roster of eminent contributing authors, the Handbook of Microwave and Optical Components, Volume I offers a wealth of detailed information that will prove useful in today?s complex and rapidly changing high-frequency engineering.
