April 16 is an intimate account of the Virginia Tech shootings from a group of journalism students and their professor, Roland Lazenby. On the day of the shootings, they helped supply the media with information via the student-run website, www.planetblacksburg.com. The book will relay the events of that day from the students' perspective, include profiles of the 32 victims, and desscribe the recovery and resilience of the campus community. A portion of the royalties will be donated to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund that will provide assistance to victims and their families, including grief counseling, memorials, and comfort expenses.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

ROLAND LAZENBY has taught journalism at Virginia Tech for eight years and has lived in and around Blacksburg most of his life. KEVIN CUPP, SUZANNE HIGGS, OMAR MAGLALANG, LAURA MASSEY, TRICIA SANGALANG, and NEAL TURNAGE lead a group of student journalists in documenting the stories.
