MD Sarder is a professor and director of the School of Engineering at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio, United States. His research interests include logistics transportation, supply chain management, intermodal facility analysis, reshoring, supply chain resiliency, and freight modeling. He has been awarded more than $35M in funding from various agencies, including the NSF and U.S. Department of Transportation, and has authored 5 books, 7 book chapters, and more than 100 scholarly articles. He has been actively involved with various professional societies including the Transportation Research Board (TRB), Material Handling Institute (MHI), and Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE). He also served as the editor-in-chief of International Journal of Logistics Transportation Research and as an editor of the Transportation Research Record.
