Inhaltsangabe

Transcriptomics in Atherosclerosis: Deciphering Molecular Signatures and Advancing Therapeutic Strategies explores how transcriptomic research is transforming our understanding and management of atherosclerosis. Bridging molecular biology and clinical medicine, it delves into the dynamic regulation of gene expression, the role of non-coding RNAs, and emerging insights from epitranscriptomics. The book emphasizes advanced technologies such as single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, while embracing systems-level integration with other omic layers. It highlights how these approaches can reveal disease mechanisms, refine risk stratification, and guide the development of RNA-based diagnostics and therapies. Designed for researchers, clinicians, and translational scientists, this volume moves beyond generic overviews to present current methods, practical insights, and real-world challenges in the field. By doing so, it lays the groundwork for a new generation of precision strategies in cardiovascular care.

Über die Autorinnen und Autoren

Yvan Devaux, Ph.D. explores the frontiers of RNA biology in cardiovascular and neurological disease. With a translational, patient-centered approach, his work bridges disciplines―uniting clinicians, computational biologists, researchers, and industry partners to address urgent medical needs. Devaux’s team has pioneered biomarker discovery pipelines using deep sequencing, AI, and advanced bioinformatics. A seasoned leader of large-scale research consortia, he now focuses on the heart-brain axis, uncovering RNA biomarkers that illuminate the complex interplay between brain and heart disease. This volume captures his vision for collaborative, data-driven innovation in precision medicine.

Miron Sopić, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Medical Biochemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade. He teaches biochemistry with a strong emphasis on its diagnostic applications, grounded in his scientific expertise. His research centers on inflammation in cardiometabolic diseases, particularly the discovery of RNA-based biomarkers. Dr. Sopić is the author of more than 54 scientific publications and was awarded the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2022. This fellowship enabled his collaboration with Dr. Yvan Devaux at the Luxembourg Institute of Health, where they are exploring epitranscriptomic signatures in atherosclerosis―pushing the boundaries of cardiovascular molecular medicine.
