A pack of six titles exploring the institutions, rights and responsibilities that underpin our lives in the UK and relating them to the experience of the reader. Each title looks at a different aspect of our society, such as the law, national and local government or the media. The series is linked to the citizenship curriculum of 2002. Each book provides: case studies to help the reader understand his or her own position as a citizen of a modern, multicultural society; ideas for further research; and hints on how readers can get involved in shaping the decisions that affect their lives.
