Inhaltsangabe

Excerpt from By What Authority?: The Principles in Common and at Issue in the Reports of the Poor Law Commission

These articles were originally written at the request Of the Editor of the Birmingham Daily Post, the first before, the rest just after, the issue Of the Report of the Commission in February, and it is by his kindness that I am permitted to republish them with some alterations and additions. They do not pretend to be a complete analysis Of the contents Of the Report. An Obvious injustice is done to the treatment by the Commissioners of the whole question of Medical Aid. I felt that this was too large and technical a subject to be dealt with without unduly trespassing on the space allowed me in a daily newspaper.
