In an effort to assist teachers in all grades of schools to conduct the work of physical culture systematically and effectively, we have arranged in this little manual a series of exercises which have been satisfactorily tested in the school room. For a period of five years. The whole scheme has been carefully adjusted to the needs of the pupils, and accurately illustrated for the guidance of teach ers. The work is based primarily upon the German System of Gymnastics, modified and adapted to meet the needs of the schools of the present day. The musical exercises are adapted by kind permission from Music for - the Common Schools by Mrs. Carrie B. Adams.
