The use of satellite associated data collection platform systems is considered to be a promising method of gathering data from remote natural areas. In response to an invitation from the o.s. Geological Survey's Earth Resources Observation Division, the National Park Service submitted a proposal for the use of the Convertible Data Collection Platforms in gathering data from remote sites in order to determine the validity, reliability, and complexity of such systems.
