Dr. Mark T. Berger had an international career teaching history for forty years at several institutions around the world. He worked at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia; the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, USA; the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and Okanagan, Canada; the University of the South Pacific in Suva, Fiji; and Murdoch University in Perth, Australia. He has published more than sixty articles on history and international politics. He has also written Under Northern Eyes: Latin American Studies and US Hegemony in the Americas, 1898-1990 (1995) and The Battle for Asia: From Decolonization to Globalization (2004). In 2014, he published Rethinking the Third World: International Development and World Politics, which he co-authored with Heloise Weber. He is now retired and lives in Vernon, British Columbia.
