Marine historian Maynard Bray has authored or co-authored many books on the subject of wooden boats, including the classic Book of Wooden Boats. He lives in Brooklin, Maine.
John Rousmaniere has sailed in over 35,000 miles of offshore voyaging and racing. He crewed on the 48-foot Toscana in the fateful Fastnet Race of 1979.

Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Book is in excellent condition. Six chapters, sorted by boat type, and culled from the always stunning Calendar of Wooden Boats from 2001-2009. Mendlowitz has set the standard for wooden-boat photography with pleasing angles, pristine back-grounds, and soft, delicate early morning or late-evening light-or dramatic mid-day skies. He credits Bray, in many cases, for positioning the chase boat to get just the right pose. Bray's excellent commentary tells us what we're seeing, fills in some background, and, on occasion, offers a touch of whimsy-such as describing a pair of Fife sheerline dragons coming alive or imagining the next moment when a puff is about to strike an already pressed set of sails.
