Balazuc is a small medieval village carved from a limestone cliff thast towers over the Ardeche River in south-central France. It is a lovely place for visitors, but for residents life has been harsh. At time Balazuc has prospered, through the cultivation of silkworms, and now with the tourist trade. This book looks at the historical events that greatly affected this little village, from the French Revolution to the two world Wars.
Biografía del autor
JOHN MERRIMAN is professor of history at Yale University and the author of acclaimed works in French history. He and his family divide their time between Connecticut and Balazuc.
