Ivermectin and abamectin, members of the avermectin family of compounds, were introduced to the market in the 1980's as a veterinary antiparasitic drug and agricultural pesticide, respectively. William C. Campbell played in a record37 U.S. Amateurs. He won the tournament in 1964 at the age of 41 and served as the president of the USGA from 1941-1977. He is also a two-time North and South Amateur Champion.
