In this book, the first of a two-volume set focusing on normal psychological development throughout the life span, Katherine A. Billingham discusses the basics of normal development and presents specific research findings in developmental psychology, sociology, and health care psychology that are especially relevant to the health care professional. Beginning with an overview of developmental concepts, methodological issues, and the work of three major developmental theorists-Freud, Piaget, and Erikson-Dr. Billingham goes on to explain the developmental process from prenatal and infancy stages through adolescence.
