Excerpt from Sixty-Second Annual Report of the Inspector of Prisons and Public Charities Upon the Hospitals for the Insane, Feeble-Minded and Epileptic of the Province of Ontario, Being for the Year Ended 31st October 1929<br/><br/>Notwithstanding the large increase in the hospital population and in the days stay, we find by accurate calculation that the actual cost' per patient per day was slightly over one cent less in 1929 than in 1928. In 1928 the figures Show a daily cost per patient of $1. 21. In 1929 the cost was $1. 20. This item in itself is small, but based on the total days stay it amounts to $34, in a year.
