Excerpt from Transactions of the Texas State Medical Association: Twenty-Fourth Annual Session, Held at Tyler, Texas; April 26, 27 and 28, 1892
Section 1. Every regularly educated man within the limits of this State, who is a graduate of a regular medical college in good standing, and who adopts and conforms to the Code of Ethics of the American Medical Association, shall be eligible to membership in this body; provided they are members in good standing of their respective county or district medical societies.
Sec. 2. In all cases where there exists no county medical organization (and the qualifications for membership are perfect in every other respect), this fact shall not be a bar to membership.
