And one half to three inches; now we have grooves only from one half to five eighths of an inch, so that we can safely run our cars, and at the same time not disturb or interfere to any extent with the vehicular travel in the street. So it will be with reference to the elevated structures. There are in New York many places where the structure is unsightly, but the engineers are at work upon those structures, and will simplify them very greatly. We do not propose here to use any such unsightly structures as were first built.
