A company that conducts so large a volume of business, with up to-date equipments, a staff of competent officials, and doing business in one of the best stock - growing regions of the world, should, as the result of such advantages, make large profits, at least at a time when prosper ity is general and large profits the rule, particularly in specialized i11 dustries. In this regard there is no phase of the inquiry in which the evidence appears so conflicting. This, however, is more apparent than real, as the same method of estimating profits will show.
