To\ fay that Forms are effential, is as ridiculous, as it would be uncharitable to fay, that we capnot be faved without them. The Nonjuring Part of. The Jacobite Cler gy~ (perhaps the molt innocent Part of them) maintain a mol'c abfurd, antichrillian, and fanatical Pofition,' that without the Form of a Bilhop's Hand, no Man, however pious or learned, can preach the Gofpel, or adminifier' the Ordinances and that whoever has pafi'ed through that Form, however ignorant or wicked, is a Minifier of Chrifi. Neither can this Form' be obtained without an awful Declaration, which I doubt no Man in his Senfes could make, with a fafe Confcience, that in applying for it he is called by the Holy Ghol't.
